Switch Willo Stables offers an engaging summer camp experience designed specifically for children aged 6 to 12 years. The camp runs from Monday to Friday, with hours from 8:30 AM to 4 PM on Mondays and from 9 AM to 4 PM on Tuesday through Friday. The tuition fee for the camp is $575, which includes a camp t-shirt. Each day, campers participate in small group riding lessons, allowing them to learn the fundamentals of riding, horse care, and safety in a fun and informative environment. These lessons are structured to ensure that every child gets the individual attention they need, with no riding group larger than four participants.
Throughout the week, campers learn essential horsemanship skills, including how to safely work with horses on the ground and understanding equine anatomy. They also engage in activities that teach them how to control their horses while riding rather than simply following in a line. The camp incorporates fun games and exercises to enhance learning, making it an enjoyable experience for all participants. Additionally, when not riding, campers have the opportunity to enjoy arts and crafts, swimming in the pool (available during the summer), and a variety of indoor and outdoor games.
Attending the Switch Willo Stables summer camp provides children with more than just riding skills; it also fosters important life skills such as self-respect, respect for others, and effective communication. Interacting with horses teaches campers about empathy and responsibility, as each horse has its own unique personality and preferences. By the end of the camp, children not only gain confidence in their riding abilities but also develop valuable social skills and a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others. The camp culminates in a Friday Horse Show and Ribbon Ceremony, celebrating the skills and accomplishments of each camper.
